Want to know more about daggers and knives? Click here.
Daggers and knives have existed as both tool and weapon for countless centuries, appearing in almost limitless variety; from a Renaissance main gauche to a horn handled switchblade to the bayonet issued to US soldiers in Vietnam. The majority of our daggers are parrying daggers which were designed as a companion weapon to be used with the rapier and often made “en suite” (meaning part of a set). These daggers are offered at a discount when rented with a rapier.
We typically stock between two and four copies of each piece unless specified one of a kind. As these are custom pieces there may be very slight variations in either hilt or blade. Many, but not all, weapons on this page are available with scabbards/sheaths. Be sure to call in advance to check on availability or with specific inquiries.
* Scabbards with associated frog are $1.25 when available. Simple frogs always supplied free of charge.
Knives are either fixed blade or folding and those in this section would generally be appropriate for productions set in the 19th, 20th or 21st centuries. Sheaths are included with every fixed blade. These props were all “real” knives modified for use on stage.
Please note that we do not carry retractable knives. The reasons we do not rent them can be found on our FAQ page.
These bayonets are the actual original weapons made by the military and modified for use on stage. Original scabbards are included with each bayonet. We have four of each design but can likely obtain additional pieces given adequate lead time.
